England beat India to seal 3-0 series win

CARDIFF: England defeated India by six wickets in a rain-affected match here Friday to complete a 3-0 one-day series victory over the reigning world champions.
India trudge off after losing the one-day series 0-3
India looked to have posted a formidable total after piling up 304-6 off their 50 overs, with Virat Kohli lashing a superb century and veteran Rahul Dravid contributing 69 in his farewell one-dayer.

However sporadic rain showers delayed the start of the England run chase at Sophia Gardens, and when play finally resumed England had been set a revised Duckworth-Lewis target of 270 to win in 40 overs.

England captain Alastair Cook and number three Jonathan Trott both contributed half centuries before debutant Jonny Bairstow slashed an unbeaten 41 with Ravi Bopara 36 not out to steer the hosts to victory.
